Potomac Leather & Wolfstone Kilt Companies

Potomac Leather Company was founded in 1983 by Bill and Virginia Watson. Bill went to school for Western saddle making. Virginia's formal training was from Randy Merrell, where she learned how to make cowboy boots.  In the beginning they specialized in custom leather work. Commission work was done for President George Bush, President Ronald Reagan, a Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia, a Secretary of Defense, a Secretary of the Air Force, and even Eric Clapton. They designed their own line and have specialized in Medieval and Renaissance clothing and accessories. In the mid 1990s they started a new business, Wolfstone Kilt Company. This company specializes in Scottish, Irish, and Scandinavian (Viking) historical reproduction clothing from the 600s through 1800s.

THE MISTS OF TIME COLLECTION - 2015

This collection is inspired by Scotland, circa 1750.  The spirit of the drama and romance of that time lives on with this historic clothing.  You can feel yourself go back in time when you are wearing clothing that the Scottish men and women wore.  Our specialty is creating that moment for you, to bring a piece of history so alive that you can sense it!  Using linen, Scottish wool, heavy woven cotton, lovely venice lace, sturdy spring steel boning and metal and antler buttons, these pieces are functional and meant to last for years.  Just as all the clothing of that period was. The fabric is cut from our patterns, sewn, ironed, and finished here in the Highlands of Virginia.  Our garments are all made by very skilled seamstresses and cutters and finishers.  We are proud of our work and stand by it one hundred percent.

The Braeburn pieces are made for the lads and The Heatherfield pieces for lassies.  I hope that you enjoy our latest offering!

Keep checking back for for our new 2016 designs - and don't forget you can get an advanced look at them May 21st (see the link in our "upcoming shows" below)
